Ceremony of signing the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan
6 September 2024, in the conference hall of the CBRN Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, there was a signing ceremony of the Memorandum on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan "On establishment of the National Training Centre for Masters Degree in Medical Physics at the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan”.
The Memorandum was signed by the First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Muhsinzoda Gafur, and the Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Doctor of Technical Sciences Amonzoda Ilkhom.
The meeting was attended by Ilhom Mirsaidzoda, Director of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of NAST, and his First Deputy Matin Akhmedov, who in turn discussed bilateral cooperation between the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
This memorandum is submitted for consideration as part of the IAEA's Ray of Hope initiative to increase capacity and resources for cancer control in the Republic of Tajikistan.
The purpose of this Memorandum is to define areas of cooperation between the Parties in the establishment, construction, equipping, training and curriculum development for the National Training Centre. This Centre will play a key role in training qualified specialists in medical physics, whose graduates will work in various oncology centres under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The signed Memorandum includes a number of areas of cooperation, including cooperation related to the establishment and construction of a National Training Centre for a Masters Degree in Medical Physics, providing the Centre with modern technology and resources, identifying and training qualified professionals to lead and manage training programmes, and developing a comprehensive training programme.
Both sides expressed confidence that this cooperation will be an important step in strengthening scientific cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, which will also contribute to the development of innovative technologies and improve the professional skills of doctors in the field of oncology.
