On 11 April 2024, within the framework of the "Week of Science" event dedicated to the professional holiday of scientists - the Day of Science Professionals, as well as to familiarize with the work and activities of the staff, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda together with the Director of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan visited the Branch Office of the Agency in Sughd region, located in Buston town.

Initially, the President of NAST and the delegation were familiarized with the work of laboratories, modern equipment for assessment of radiation situation, determination of radionuclide content in samples of construction materials - stone, gravel and sand, devices for gas analysis of radon radioactivity in water, press center and training center of the Agency's branch and the work conditions of employees.

Then, a working meeting of NAST management and Agency Branch staff was held in the meeting room.

The President of NAST, Kobiljon Khushvakhtzod provided full information on the implementation of orders and instructions of the Founder of National Peace and Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon on the implementation of state policy in the field of science, especially the expansion of research activities that meet the requirements of modernization of scientific institutions, stabilizing the material and technical base of laboratories, linking the achievements of scientists with production, training highly qualified personnel among young Tajik scientists and expanding scientific links with reputable international organizations and world's developed countries.

It was pointed out that all employees of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan should contribute to the implementation of the orders and instructions of the Head of State on the development of natural, exact and mathematical sciences in 2020-2024, the learning of at least 2 foreign languages, as well as make their valuable contribution to preventing young people from joining extremist and terrorist movements.

Summary, Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, told the audience about the plans for further development of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, congratulated everyone on the professional holiday of Tajik scientists, wished good health, new scientific achievements and happiness in the year of celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Agency's branch in Sughd region.

At the end, the Director of the Agency's Sughd Branch - Professor Kholmurod Nazarov made a speech, expressing confidence to the NAST management and the CBRN Safety and Security of NAST Agency that the Branch's staff in the remarkable year of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Agency's Branch in Sughd region will focus all their energies, knowledge and ingenuity on the realization of the wise policy of the Founder of National Peace and Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, towards the development of Tajik science.
