Last week, a general meeting was held in the conference hall of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan with the participation of the management and staff of this agency. The meeting focused on the problem of terrorism and extremism, youth accession to extremist and terrorist groups, the emergence of mercantile people, especially extremist groups on the Internet, as well as the overall difficult geopolitical situation of the region and the world.

Ilhom Mirsaidzoda - Director of CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST during his speech, paying attention to this matter, stated that the process of changing global events does not last for five or decades, but already months and even days play a significant role. Therefore, we need to have close communication with all segments of society, especially the youth, to guide them to study and work creatively for the development and progress of our country - Tajikistan. The Director, on the issue of mobile Internet culture, added that young people should not go to various social pages on the Internet or interact with unknown persons through whom extremist groups influence people's ideology, and that young people should always be on the alert.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in his Annual Address to the Supreme Assembly of the Republic, dated December 28, 2023, stated that: “The complex and alarming situation in the region and the world, including the increasing intensification of the process of world redistribution, rapid armament, the Cold War, modern threats and hazards - terrorism and extremism, illegal arms trafficking, cybercrime and other organized transnational crime, forces us to ensure that additional measures are taken for the defense security of our country”.

In fact, these words of the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, once again prove that the political situation in the world is unpredictable and requires more than ever a political mind from each individual.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Director gave instructions to specialists and staff of the CBRN Safety and Security Agency of NAST in enhancing their professional skills, learning languages and engaging them in natural, exact and mathematical sciences.
