Defense of the Candidate Dissertation of Mirzoev Daler on a topic Physical-chemical and technological bases for obtaining special-purpose composites from local raw materials of Tajikistan
On 18 March 2024, at the Institute of Chemistry named after V.I. Nikitin of NAST, a Senior Researcher of the Branch of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of NAST in Sughd Region - Mirzoev Daler, defended his candidate dissertation on the topic Physical-chemical and technological bases for obtaining special-purpose composites from local raw materials of Tajikistan" and successfully obtained the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the specialty 17.05.01 - Technology of inorganic substances.
The subject of the dissertation of Mirzoev Daler is important, the main purpose of which is the development of physico-chemical and technological bases for the production of special-purpose composites from local raw materials in Tajikistan.
The scientific novelty of the research should also be highlighted. It has been established for the first time the possibility of obtaining new types of composite materials for special purposes based on concentrate of barite, magnetite, bentonite, iron-containing waste, white cast iron and metallic aluminum.
The developed composition of the mixture provides effective attenuation of ionizing radiation from a wide range of radionuclides with a thinner layer than known building materials. With a layer thickness of 10 mm, the proposed composition provides attenuation of ionizing radiation from various radionuclides up to 1.18 times for the 137Cs source and up to 824 times for X-rays.
It is shown that it is possible to modify iron oxide forms in the form of magnetite and hematite phases with aluminum ions from aqueous solutions of aluminum nitrate (Al(NO3)3•6H2O) in order to combine them physically and chemically with aluminum melt. It has been established that the hydroxyl groups of the surface of iron oxides are the main type of reaction centers, along which their surface is modified.
It is worth noting that the research results of Mirzoev Daler's dissertation work, as well as the area of their use are stated in a special way. That is the obtained radiation-protective composites are recommended to be used in medical institutions for x-ray rooms and others, namely, to the method of protecting visitors, attendants, equipment and the environment from gamma and x-ray radiation.
