Scientific and practical seminar on "Functional nutrition and its role in the World Today"
On 27 April 2023, a joint scientific and practical seminar on "Functional Nutrition and its Role in the World Today" was held at the Tajik Technological University (TTU) within the bilateral cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of TTU and WiN Tajikistan.
Sharofova Mizhgona – Dr., Vice President of WiN Tajikistan, delivered the opening remarks. In her speech, she noted that the functional food, which has a scientific basis, in addition to the traditional nutritional value, combines characteristic additional properties because it is obvious to all that a healthy diet is the basis of human health! The basis of good health and a healthy lifestyle is good nutrition - everything a person eats has an impact on his/her appearance and mood.
In 2019, the United Nations has declared 7 June as World Food Safety Day. The aim of this is not only to draw international attention to food issues, but also to improve global health through food safety.
Women scientists, representatives of WiN Tajikistan, made the presentations:
- Rustamova Mehriniso, Dr., Professor, Laureate of E.N. Pavlovsky Award, Head of "Clinical Medicine" Department of NAST;
- Salibayeva Zainab, Chief Specialist of National Diagnostic Centre of Food Safety under the Government of Republic of Tajikistan.
In addition, lectures on the topic of study the functional foods were given by professors and students of TTU.
The management of Tajik Technical University offered open lectures and classes for the students of this faculty by representatives of WiN Tajikistan. An initiative was also taken to start joint scientific cooperation with TTU professors and female scientists of the WiN Tajikistan.
