On 15 September 2023, the official ceremony of handing over the Toyota Hilux cars to the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of implementation of the National Action Plan of the Republic of Tajikistan on UN Security Council Resolution 1540 was held.  

Ilhom MIRSAIDZODA, Director of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency, as National Coordinator, handed over the vehicles for use to the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy. 

This technical assistance is provided within the framework of the Green Border Security Project, which aims to strengthen the law enforcement infrastructure of the Republic of Tajikistan along the border with Afghanistan. 

As part of this project, it is planned to hand over specialized clothing, body armour, equipment for operations in mountainous terrain, special protective uniforms for mine clearance, night vision devices, binoculars, monoculars, receiving and transmitting devices (radios), special military vehicles, cars and minibuses with sensitive equipment for detecting the illegal traffic of nuclear and radioactive materials and a number of others.
