Today, the Government of Tajikistan through the Chemical, Biological and Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency has hosted a 3-days Regional l Coordination Meeting which was conducted in close coordination with International Atomic Energy Agency. The purpose of the event is to present and review the progress made and define future activities to be implemented under the project “RER2020003 - Supporting the Analysis of Low Carbon Pathways towards an Ambitious Decarbonised Energy Sector by 2050”.
This important coordination event has gathered 18 energy and climate change experts from Europe and Central Asia involved in development and review of National Determined Contribution (NDC) and National Energy and Climate Plans (NECP).
The event was opened by Mr. Ihhom Mirsaidzoda, Director of chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Agency of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sorbon Kholmuhammadzoda, Deputy Ministey of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Umarkhon Madvaliev, Head of the Association of Renewable Energy of Tajikistan as well as official representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
As a result of the Regional Coordination Meeting, the participants have presented about existing status and the current needs for energy assessment on country level as well as discussed and updated project workplan with focus on regional training courses and workshops needed for capacity building activities, fellowships and expert missions.
