Performance verification of the RPM at the “Dusti” checkpoint in Tursunzade
On November 30, 2021, experts from the National Nuclear Security Administration of the US Department of Energy (DOE/NNSA) and the Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence (NSDD), employees of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety & Security Agency (CBRN SSA) and employees of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan visited the checkpoint "Dusti" in Tursunzade city.
The purpose of the visit of the Dusti checkpoint was to verify the correct functioning of installed radiation portal monitors (RPM) and the use of hand-held devices for a secondary inspection during the detection of nuclear and radioactive materials.
The shift supervisor of the Dusty checkpoint demonstrated the operation of the equipment and showed the functioning of a centralized alarm warning system (CAS).
During the meeting also was discussed a number of training courses for inspectors, software updates for RPM and a list of necessary accessories for mobile groups of the “Dusti” checkpoint in Tursunzade.
