Meeting of the Director of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Agency of NAST with representatives of the Program of Action for Cancer Therapy (PACT) and the IAEA Technical Cooperation Department
During the meeting the implementation of the action plan was discussed, which was prepared by the expert mission of the Program of Action for Cancer Therapy (PACT) in cooperation with local specialists in 2012. The progress and challenges of remained items of the action plan were discussed, as well as plans for the coming years.
During the meeting, the progress of the implementation of the IAEA national projects, which is being implemented in the oncological centers of Dushanbe and Khujand cities, as well as the preparation for a new project in the Kulyab city were also discussed.
Ilhom Mirsaidzoda, the Director of Nuclear and Radiation Safety Agency of the NAST, expressed gratitude to representatives of the Program of Action for Cancer Therapy (PACT) and the Department of Technical Cooperation for the implementation of current and future projects in Tajikistan and noted that the Government of the country also planned a series of measures to improve the infrastructure of the aforementioned cancer centers.
At the end of the meeting, the next steps for the effective implementation of current and future projects in Tajikistan were identified.
