The next training course on Conducting of National Inspections
The training course on Conducting of National Inspections had been held in the Training Center of National Bank of Tajikistan in Gulistan city on August 16-20, 2021, aimed to familiarize participants with the Safeguards Fundamentals. The training course was launched for the national inspectors of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Agency and NRSA Branch in Sughd region and organized by the partners from the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s International Nuclear Safeguards Engagement Program (INSEP) representatives.
Dr. Ilhom Mirsaidzoda – Director of NRSA, opened the course. In his opening speech, the Director greeted all participants and expressed gratitude for the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s International Nuclear Safeguards Engagement Program (INSEP) team for assistance and contribution to NRSA work in the field of safeguards implementation in Tajikistan and for carrying out current training course.
The Agenda has covered many topics: Safeguards Fundamentals as terminology, calculations, an overview of data collection techniques, and preparing of Inspection Plan.
The first day started with the presentation of NRSA instructors, which included the National Legislative Framework of the Republic of Tajikistan. Overview of Training Agenda, Scenario and Exercise Support Materials. Safeguards Fundamentals: Safeguards Terminology, NMA Fundamentals for Research Reactors and Safeguards Calculations. In the afternoon, the INSEP’s team and their instructors had joined the course and made presentations for participants. In this regard, the INSEP’s instructors highlighted the professional skills and qualifications of NRSA’s team.
The course was very informative, comprehensive, and useful, particularly for inspectors who are involved in the implementation of inspection at the facilities using nuclear materials, and it provides the participants with the necessary knowledge required for the implementation of national inspections. At the end of the course, all participants were awarded the Certificate of completion.
