On the 8th of April, on the second day of working visit to cities and provinces of Sughd region, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon arrived in Istaravshan city. First, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon commissioned the new building of the Mother and Child Support Center “Farzandi Vatan” and familiarized with the conditions at the Center. 

It was reported, that construction works at the facility has started in 2020, and currently, the conditions for education, upbringing, and treatment are up-to-date as well. The facility commemorating the 30^th anniversary of State independence and intended to show the support of policy aimed at the guardianship of orphans by the President of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, and has been created by the natives of this region, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Ulmas Mirsaidov and Makhkam Azam Mahmudzoda.

The Center provides all the necessary conditions for accommodation, education, and treatment of 150 children left without guardians and suffering from various diseases.

As the Leader of the Nation has been informed, the building was built with the involvement of local construction workers and craftsmen, consist of two floors, basements, and a mansard. Overall, the area of the Center building I more than 1,200 square meters. The building has spacious corridors, five working rooms, four bedrooms, four rooms for children's games and activities, five sanitary rooms, a day reception room for social and rehabilitation services, and a dining room.

In the courtyard of the Center, there are two pools with drinking and irrigation water with a capacity of 36 and 12 cubic meters, 1 playground on the sand, 2 spring arbors, and a parking lot. Moreover, the construction of one indoor sports ground is planned for the future on Mother and Child Support Center territory.

At the current moment, children living in the Center and receive treatments on an ongoing basis. Various types of social services have been established in day groups, including the development of children's speech and their preparation for school, and 48 children are currently served. Of these, 26 with various diseases, and 17 others with intellectual disabilities receive treatment and training.

The Leader of the Nation has been informed that 18 children aged 1 to 7 years are kept in the permanent residence unit. Moreover, the type of service "House visit" is established here for the surrounding villages of the Istaravshan city, specialists of the Center teach families with unhealthy children how to perform medical work. Eighteen specialists of 48 currently working at the Mother and Child Support Centre, have completed short-term advanced training courses at the Institute of Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In the day group in the institution and houses covered by social services, a service "Rest" was organized for mothers who are in difficult living situations or are single, and there is a need to care for the child.

During the conversation with teachers and other employees of the Center, the President of the country recommended fruitfully use the opportunities created and take effective measures for the proper upbringing of children, especially children with disabilities. In addition, taking into account the current potential of the facility and the buildings under construction, it was recommended to use the Mother and Child Support Center in Istaravshan in the future as an inter-district center.
