A technical meeting of experts of the U.S. Department of Energy with NRSA technical specialists of the  National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and the State Enterprise "Radioactive Waste Disposal Site"  to strengthen the infrastructure of the state enterprise "Radioactive Waste Disposal Site" was held in Dushanbe from May 19 to May 21.  NRSA in cooperation with SE "Radioactive Waste Disposal Site" presented project proposals for financing, which were discussed during the meeting.

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a workshop was held from February 20 to 21, 2014 on the implementation of the action plan to strengthen the national emergency preparedness and response program in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2013-2017. During the meeting, participants introduced with the following items:

1. International emergency preparedness requirements and assistance provided by IAEA to member States to strengthen emergency preparedness;
2. Emergency readiness and radiation protection program for 2013-2017;
3. An action plan for the implementation of the emergency readiness and radiation protection program for 2013-2017;
4. Tasks of the NRSA for strengthening emergency readiness and response; Discussions were also held on the tasks of individual ministries and departments to strengthen the emergency preparedness and response in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2013 - 2017.
